Anyways, whenever I am at my in-laws house and I am playing with my phone, my mother in-law always says "Are you mother-in-blogging again?" I just think it funny that she says that. She always says or does funny things and joke about me blogging them to everyone... So I have decided to make her wish come true. I have created a blog about the things my mother in-law says or does.

Go Check it out and stay updated on her antics.

www.motherinblog.blogspot.com

Just so you know, this is all done out of fun and she loves it. so leave comments about the things she says and does and it would make her day. Look them up. Anyways one of the members of the crew has this quote of his Myspace page.

“I am a moment in time designed to reflect the light of my king”

I read it and then thought about it, and then I read it like eight more times and thought to my self….. How am I reflecting the like?

Have become dull and faded and in need of a polish? Or am I shiny and reflecting and shining the light of my God to the world?

These are questions that we need to ask our selves daily in order to stay reflecting.

If the polish that keeps us shiny is the bible and spending time with God then the next question is….. How often to you polish?

I mean, if we don’t polish our selves we will lose the shine right? So are we polishing enough?

Let’s discuss this issue together.

“I am a moment in time designed to reflect the light of my king”

We need dragons

I heard a story today from a friend about a princes up in a tower that was guarded by a dragon. Then prince charming came on a white horse to save the day. Ok I know this is a new story to you all so try and fallow along. Anyways prince charming came and killed the dragon and saved the princes and they got married and had many kids who also got stuck in towers guarded by dragons….. Ok so I added that last part.

She told me that her friend told this story to her kids and left out the part about the dragon.

Her kids asked her “why couldn’t the princes just get out of the castle herself?”

And the mom just replied “She just couldn’t”

Slaying the dragon and like the climax of this story and the mom kept it out to save her kids from the scariness of the dragon, thinking she was doing her kids some kind of good deed by not letting them know about it.

In our children’s stories, and in our life stories, we need the dragons. We need to share about when the dragons were there and what they did.

We need them there for one reason…..

To show that the dragon can be beaten.

This Guy is doing a cool thing

Worn Hands

I really like this band called playradioplay. Its poppy and electronic stuff. Fun to dance around to. Anyways, they have this song called “compliment eachother like colors”. It is one of my favorites. There is a line in a song that says

“I feel like my worn hands are empty waiting for God’s new plans”

I like this line but I like it more when you turn it around and make it a question.

Are your worn hands empty waiting for Gods new plans?

Hands that are worn down from already working hard and diligently on what God has put before you. Hands that are dirty and callused and have cut on them and when you look at the cuts you can remember specific stories of why you have them. Hands that look like they have done there work but still they are out stretched facing up word towards God saying “I am ready for what you have next for me oh Lord.”

I hope that I could say yes to that question.

I think there are times in my spiritual life where I look at my hand and go, “ah man, these are beat up. I better give them a rest.” But why is that my call. Why do I think it is my call when God shed his plans on to me? It’s not. No matter how worn down my hands look they should always be out and awaiting God.

And this is my prayer.

That I would be here, with my hands open to God, ready for what he has next.

Stand up, Sit down, FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!

In high school football was a big deal. Either you played on the team or you were in the student section at every game. I spent senior year in the student section cheering. Our school had a bunch of random cheers we did, and when I say we did I mean every one did. Everyone in the student section did the same cheers at the same time. One of them was one where we all moved in unison. We would say “Lean to the left, lean to the right. Stand up, sit down, fight fight fight!” As you could probably guess, we did all the motions as we said them. If you think about it, most cheers are mindless. I mean you just memories the right words to say and remember when to do the actions and then you have done your job. You don’t have to even have emotion for the game. As long as you say it you feel like you have done your part. I mean I stood with a bunch of girls who never watched the games, but they did the cheers, and my question is……is this what church is becoming?

Most of the problems that I hear people having in a church now a days is that some one is messing with their traditions. They want to stand up and sit down four times a service. They want to say the same phrase after every verse is read. They want there pastor wearing a tie and a robe, and if one of these doesn’t happen their church experience is ruined. Now don’t get me wrong, traditions are not all bad, as long as when they are performed it is heart felt. But tradition for tradition sake is pointless. Going threw the motions in our faith is pointless. God see’s our heart and knows what’s going on. We can’t just do things to make us look good and think that is what it is to be a Christian. We have to break out of that faith coma and become alive in the way we attend church and live our lives

If we are going to go to the game and do the cheers then we have to mean it. Other wise it is pointless.

Why Doves and Hearts

One is commonly seen flying away from a beautiful summer wedding and one is february fourteenths most common shape for a box of chocolates, so why are they so important? There basic symbols and the words them selves represent the two most important things in the world, the Lord and love.

When we read the gospels we study the life of Christ and try to model our life and our choices after what he did. These four book are full of big events that Jesus went threw and one of them is his baptism. Matthew 3:13-17 is the story of his baptism and in verse 16, the moment after is described.

Matthew 3:16
“As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.”

What a beautiful image is that. God coming down to His son like a dove and lightning at the same time. A dove is a beautiful creature and is a glorious symbol of our Lord. When I see a dove my mind immediately goes straight the power of our God.

God’s beauty in the form of a dove and now God’s beauty in the form of a heart.

1 John 4:8
“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

The heart is the international symbol of love. I mean “I heart you” is a common phrase now a days, and that heart, or that love that we speak of is God. God is Love and thats a fact.

Doves and Hearts is going to be the title of articles that I will be writing. Every now and then I just get these thoughts in my head about a life with God and this is going to be my way of getting it out. So if you read these then I hope that Gods light can be shined on you threw reading it.
